How to Make Coffee Pancakes- Ingredient Variations

1.Egg substitutes for best pancake recipes

Eggs hold pancakes together, make them fluffy, and golden brown, and add to the taste. But if you are a vegetarian or have any dietary restrictions, then you can use these substitutes instead of eggs. These substitutes work well and help you prepare the best pancake recipes with coffee and without eggs.

 a. Peanut butter or any other nut butter like cashew and almond butter. This will give the pancakes a nutty flavor along with the coffee flavor. Use 2 teaspoons of nut butter in place of 1 egg.

 b. One medium-sized mashed banana will do the job of the egg and add a hint of banana flavor to your coffee pancakes.

 c. You can also replace the egg with ¼ cup applesauce while preparing your best pancake recipes with coffee. It gives your pancakes a sweet and tangy flavor that refreshes your tastebuds.

 d. You can also use ¼ cup plain yogurt to replace the egg for your pancake recipe.

   2. Dairy substitutes for best pancake recipes

For those who are vegan or allergic to dairy products, you can substitute milk/buttermilk with almond milk. For those allergic to nuts, substitute with oat-milk.

   3. Coffee Choices with toppings for best pancake recipes

Pancakes taste better with titbits like chocolate chips or fresh fruit chunks. Take your coffee pancake game to another level by matching the flavor of coffee with them. Use OK Caramel's Hazy Hazelnut or Creamy Caramel instant coffee granules if you plan to add chocolate chips to your pancakes. And we highly recommend Very Berry and Choco Orange if you swing towards fresh fruits. And for those who can't be bothered with these accompaniments, you can never go wrong with the classic Just Original and French Vanilla flavors from the house of OK Caramel

How to Make Coffee Pancakes- Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add all the dry ingredients together and mix them well. If you are using a pancake premix then simply pour the dry mix into a bowl. Use a smaller bowl if you are making a pancake recipe for one.
  1. Pour 2 tablespoons of OK Caramel instant coffee of your choice with 2 tablespoons of boiling water and mix them well.
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the egg with milk/buttermilk, instant coffee mix, and melted butter. You can substitute the above ingredients with the choices described above.
  1. Now pour this wet mixture into the dry mix right in the middle and then pour on the outer edges. Use a spatula to mix all these ingredients well together and whisk the mixture until it acquires a smooth texture.
  1. Heat a cast iron skillet or a non-stick large pan to medium-high heat. Pour a small bit of butter or vegetable oil to grease the pan sufficiently. Note that vegetable or nut oil will be less smoky than butter.
  1. Now pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of batter into the pan and spread it to around five inches in diameter.
  1. Let the batter cook for about 2-3 minutes and then add the toppings of your choice (chocolate chips or fruit chunks).
  1. Then flip the pancakes and let them cook for 1-2 minutes more until they are brown and fluffy.
  1. Transfer the coffee pancakes to a platter, and place them under an inverted bowl to keep them warm.
  1. Repeat the process, till you get the required number of pancakes.
  1. Serve with maple syrup, jams, preserves, honey, iced sugar, or butter.
